So, it’s been a while. Again. Sorry about that.
The main big news today – I passed my driving test! Eight minors, which isn’t my best performance, but no majors, which is. It was my fourth attempt; the whole thing was getting increasingly ridiculous, with the examiners coming up with new problems each time with things they’d been perfectly happy with the last time. Anyway, several hundred pounds later, and I’ll never have to do that again – hooray!
V and I have had a few trips to Leicester and other assorted places to visit people, all of which have been wonderful. The diary’s filling up for March too, which is exciting. Christmas was nice, if a little family-oriented, and new year was a lot of fun. It all seems a long time ago now though…
The most exciting thing of all though, is that we’ve booked our quickly-becoming-traditional summer break in the Dordoigne. Sixteen of us are going to drive there, and stay in a really nice converted barn for a week at the start of July. Good weather, good food, and great friends, what could be better?
I’m quite ridiculously excited about France, and have to keep reminding myself that it’s still five months away, but still, it’ll be fabulous and I can’t wait!

Yayyyyy!!! Well done Josh! *Hugs*
So…. when are you coming up to Chester?
What do you think, Saxo, Clio, or Polo (I’m looking at the 10 year old models.)
I wouldnt know the difference between them! To be honest I doubt there’s much to choose between – Generally I think the same ‘bracket’ cars, with the same engines will be pretty much comparable. I’ve got it in my head clio’s tend to be a bit ‘phat boy’-ish, so I’d go for one of the others. Saxo is a good name, go with that. We could call you the jazzman
You could go to a showroom or two and test-drive some? I didnt actually drive any when we were shopping for ours and it would have been interesting.
Yeah, maybe… Saxos and 106s are essentially the same car, so could get one of them. Cheap as, it has to be said, and they get pretty good reviews.
. How’s Juanita doing after the eight months or so you’ve had her?
The other option is a Fiat Bravo – despite being a good late 90′s hatchback, apparently it struggled to sell even with amazing reductions in the last few years of its shelf life, and so you can get a well equipped one really cheaply. That means I can afford a 2001 model, possibly allaying the problems of age for a while.
I don’t have the same feeling as you on the Clios, but from 1998 on they have the benefit of being about the safest hatchbacks you can buy. Course there is the downside that they’re at the top end/slightly out of my price range, but there we are.
I plan on doing some test driving, so that should be interesting
